Members' Event: Glastonbury & the Avalon Marshes talk
View More
Join BPT CEO Alex Sherman for a special Members' talk about the significant landscapes around Glastonbury and the Avalon Marshes. Before he joined Bath Preservation Trust Alex led a landscape restoration scheme in the Avalon Marshes around Glastonbury, which won best environment project in the UK in 2017. Alex will explain how the project created the largest area of reedbed in the country, and supported nature recovery and the spread of rare species. This fascinating project also involved excavating Glastonbury Lake Village and the building of replica Roman and Saxon buildings.
