Measure Twice, Cut Once
learning from community engagement
Pepper Barney, BiBO Architects
Tuesday, October 17th, Museum of Bath Architecture
Doors will open at 5.30 for 6:00PM start. There will be a bar available for purchasing wine, beer, and soft drinks before and after the event for those who wish to network and/or explore the museum.
Measure twice, cut once especially when working with precious, impactful and expensive materials like buildings! In this session Pepper Barney, co-founder of BiBO will share some of the “Lessons Learned” from over 15 years of experience in engaging people about the places where they live, work, and play. Pepper will explore some ways in which to dive deep into the heart of determining value to create flexible and resilient approaches to design, and ultimately solutions with the potential to do far more than tick boxes.
BiBO is a collaborative multi-disciplinary practice bringing people together to design and develop more inclusive, resilient and sustainable places. BiBO believe respectful and relevant communication throughout the development lifecycle is critical to delivering positive outcomes. A pioneering service is built around this core belief, allowing seamless engagement with stakeholders across disciplines including masterplanning and urban design, architecture, heritage and regeneration, strategic communications and development management.
Pepper is a co-founder of BiBO, architect and masterplanner with a post-graduate specialism in regeneration. She holds posts at the University of Bath and UCL. Through her work at BiBO, she promotes greater application of academic innovation and thought leadership throughout the design process and technical delivery of the built environment at all scales. She is a member of the Southwest Design Review Panel.
