Andrew Grant RDI

Andrew’s talk explores the identity value of a ‘Biophilic City’ in ways that attract tourists and support stronger local communities. And how global cities such as Singapore, Bangalore and Paris and Monaco, manage and utilise ‘green and blue’ assets to their advantage.

He uses creative design to find solutions to the challenges of climate change, biodiversity loss and improving quality of life, health and wellbeing. Each of his projects responds to place, ecology and people and promotes quality and innovation. In 2012 he was awarded the title of RSA Royal Designer for Industry in recognition of pioneering global work in landscape architecture, such as Gardens by the Bay in Singapore which won the Building Project of the Year Award in the 2012 World Architecture Festival. He is a Visiting Professor at the University of Sheffield, an Honorary Fellow of the RIBA and a member of the National Infrastructure Commission Design Group.
