To celebrate our recent acquisition of four Thomas Gainsborough portraits - available to view in our new exhibition Being There - we will be holding an ‘In conversation’ talk between author Emily Howes and Dr Amy Frost, Senior Curator for Bath Preservation Trust, about Emily’s book, The Painters Daughters. The Painters Daughters is an award-winning first novel about art, sisterhood and madness, inspired by the two daughters of painter Thomas Gainsborough, who spent their lives trying and failing to live up to the perfect image the world so admired in their portraits.
