Visit Beckford's Tower

Beckford’s Tower will be open for pre-booked tickets for free. Come and explore the Tower that was built for writer, collector and slave owner William Beckford.

The Tower was built between 1826 and 1827, Beckford’s Tower is an extraordinary building that was once home to one of the greatest collections of books, furniture and art in Georgian England and now stands as the only surviving example of William Beckford’s great architectural achievements.


Visitor information
Each group will consist of 6 people.
Visitors are recommended to pre-book tickets and arrival time slot in advance.
On arrival please wait by the front door and keep a safe distance, you will be welcomed by staff at your booking time.

We remain committed to ensuring the safety of our visitors and our staff. For this reason, the following guidelines will remain in place and we ask you to follow them when you visit.

Guidelines
Visitors are asked to wear a face covering unless exempt.
Hand sanitiser is available for use on arrival and throughout the museum.
The team onsite will be cleaning regularly throughout the day, paying special attention to bannisters, door handles, light switches.

The team will be wearing PPE and will make sure they are at least 1+ metre away from you . Please help keep everyone safe by adhering to our social distancing request.

You are welcome to use the NHS track and trace app on arrival. Please do not attend if anyone in your group has Covid-19 symptoms.

Please advise us by phone or email, if anyone develops Covid-19 symptoms during the session or soon afterwards. 

Bath Preservation Trust reserves the right to close the museum at short notice for any reason.
